Philadelphia 76ers: Why does the National Basketball Association hate the Sixers?

The Sixers beat up on some bad teams during their season-closing 16-game winning streak (only three of those 16 opponents will be in the playoffs this weekend), but still, 16 straight wins is impressive. In addition to Simmons' $280,000 Ferrari, Fultz also shared footage of a Lambo and a $300,000 Rolls-Royce, though it's unclear which of his teammates were driving those cars.

The Sixers will not have Embiid in Game 1, as he continues to recover from surgery on a left-eye orbital bone. Their poor marksmanship will be a major issue in the playoffs when teams pack the lane and dare them to shoot.

Actually, check that: It's just Joel Embiid in a mask.

The Sixers will start the playoffs Saturday night without starting center Joel Embiid.

Redick was a late scratch with lower back tightness and Simmons, who finished with four points, missed both shots in the first half. The Sixers were 1-3 against No. 1-seed Toronto, beating the Raptors in their last meeting in January.

"I like Houston and Golden State, pending their health, as being my top two favorites", five-time victor Kobe Bryant said during a conference call to promote his new basketball analysis show "Detail" that will run on ESPN during the postseason. He thinks the Sixers are a nice story but they aren't winning the East this season and likely won't do so for a decade.

The biggest game on Wednesday's slate is the Denver at Minnesota contest, the first last-day-of-season game in 21 years where the victor will go to the playoffs and the loser will miss the postseason. He averaged a season-high 23.0 points per game in April while making 52.7 percent of his field goals and shooting 52.3 percent on threes. "It's getting there. I've got to keep working every day".

There's never been more points in an National Basketball Association regular season than this one.

Fultz did close the year with a triple-double of 13 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, and there still is some hope in Philly that Fultz can get back to gaining confidence in the playoffs.

James entered the finale averaging 27.7 points, 9.2 assists and 8.7 rebounds.

"I feel I've been the best defensive player in the league this year", Embiid said.

Though Embiid has been such a huge part of the Sixers success this season, Johnson is not feeling any unordinary pressure heading into Game 1.
