Jay and Kateri Schwandt, a devout Catholic couple from MI who were still holding onto a glimmer of hope that they would welcome a daughter to their brood of 13 sons with the birth of their newborn, released that hope Wednesday when Kateri gave birth to another boy, named Finley Sheboygan Schwandt.
It's a boy, the 14th for this family.
The Grand Rapids Press reports that Kateri and Jay Schwandt welcomed the birth of their 14th son on Wednesday, five days before he was due.
Finley Sheboygan is the 14th child and boy for the Schwandt family.
They didn't know leading up to the birth whether the child would be a boy or girl.
"I can't imagine not being like this, I can't imagine not having 14 children, as insane as it sounds", said Jay Schwandt.

But after the spotlight fades and the headlines are buried they insist, they're a family just like any other. It really is neat. "Everything that we do is about family, it's centered around family".
They've said this before - after baby boy Nos. Jay Schwandt said earlier this year that he would have loved to have a girl, but didn't think would be in the cards.
The family believes that this will be the last child that they conceive, which they also said after their 12th and 13th sons.
