Once again, in matching all previous scheduled stops, Lake Norman's Wildcats placed second and Mooresville's Blue Devils chimed in third, respectively, each doing so to also maintain their respective positions in the overall updated circuit-wide stroke standings.

This year, though, Lundin has a pair of seniors to lead the girls team in Anessa Graves and Amanda Martin.

The flip side of th coin isthe team struggled in the final round with par fives.

Katterhenry enjoyed a storied career as a Purple Ace from 2013 to 2017 earning MVC Golfer of the Year honors in 2017 after winning the individual championship at the 2017 MVC Women's Golf Championship.

"(Wickum) has a knack for the game and we are excited to see what she can do when the snow melts", said Lundin.

Porten said the team really struggled with adjusting to weather and practice outdoors may help the team deal with windy conditions.

"With all the success we had a year ago, we only had one all-conference player", West coach Jon Andersen said. The Bangkok, Thailand native slipped nine spots over the last 18 holes after shooting 3-over par, 75, on Tuesday for a three-day total of 218 (72-71-75), his best 54-hole score of the season.

The team will have a quick turn aroundbefore its next tournament.

It was cool and very windy Tuesday at the Chapman Invitational Golf Tournament, but it didn't freeze out the enthusiasm of the high school golfers who finally got to take the course for the first time this spring. "We have to keep working at it to finish strong". "Maybe they will get some inspiration from it and work harder to get one (scholarship), too". "It just feels real cozy".

Richfield's 349 team score was anchored by Hayden Harris, who fired a personal best 77. "We are doing rules meetings in classrooms, hitting indoor balls in the gym, taking trips to the Braemar Golf Dome and Golf Zone to hit balls and putt and tomorrow and Thursday we are going to see what it is like to hit chip shots and pitch shots on the turf field". "I want to put my best five hitters out there".
