Hayden Hurst Is Excited About Working With Lamar Jackson

The Baltimore Ravens selected SC tight end Hayden Hurst with the 25th pick in the 2018 NFL Draft after two trades back, then selected Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson with the 32nd overall pick, trading up to end the first round.

The Super Bowl champions traded the last pick of the first round (32nd overall) and a fourth-round pick to Baltimore for the Ravens' 52nd overall pick in the second round, the 125th pick in the fourth and a second-round pick next year.

The buzz with the Baltimore Ravens in the first round last night was this was the last draft for the Ravens with General Manager Ozzie Newsome. They selected Jackson, the 2016 Heisman victor who became the first player in NCAA history to post 3,000 passing yards and 1,000 rushing yards in back-to-back seasons.

As noted by Bleacher Report, Jackson's comments were made on Thursday evening, not long after he was chosen by the Ravens in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Ozzie Newsome also threw support behind Flacco. A lot of experts have praised the Baltimore Ravens for their first round picks, so hopefully, they will hit on those picks.

Newsome, 62, has been in charge of the Ravens since the franchise arrived in Baltimore from Cleveland following the 1995 season. It's by no means hard to foresee Baltimore making the switch to Jackson, who'll be under team control for up to five years at a far more reasonable rate. It was a dream scenario, where everything the Ravens could hope for lined up.

On the other hand, the market for Bryant had to be weakened by his behavior, and the common knowledge was that any team would be doing Kevin Colbert a favor by taking Bryant of their hands. All the teams that passed me up, it doesn't really matter at this point.

Jackson, on the other hand, falls into a flawless situation, being able to sit behind Joe Flacco for a year or two in order to learn the National Football League game and to add some bulk to his frame to increase his durability.

"We have a great quarterback in Joe Flacco".

Brown's father, who was nicknamed "Zeus", played six seasons for the Ravens and started for them 13 years ago. "Lamar is going to have a chance to develop".

"Honestly we're just getting started", DeCosta said. Moore is one of the best in University of Maryland football history and an inspiration to the current Terps team.
