The party's senior leaders were virtually ostracised from the prevalent political scenario. The BJP is the party of "a New India" and his party "believes in India's diversity, its unique culture and the strengths of 125 crore Indians", he said.

On the 38th foundation day, apart from a function at BJP HQ in Delhi, a grand function was organized in Mumbai. "Infact, if there is one party that has consistently been a victim of political untouchability, it is the BJP".

Modi further said BJP's rivals are unable to come to terms with the fact that the BJP has become a party of the poor and has highest numbers of MPs and MLAs from scheduled castes and tribes.
