Get ready for the 'largest iPhone ever'

Get ready for the 'largest iPhone ever'

Apple is expected to discontinue the iPhone X later this year when the company introduces their 2018 iPhone line rather than following the tradition of continuing to sell older devices for a reduced price.

KitGuru Says: It looks like Apple has big plans for the iPhone this year.

The trio also includes an upgraded handset the same size as the current iPhone X and a less expensive model with some of the flagship phone's key features.

Apple set to release three new iPhone models this year, including the largest one ever, according to a report published Monday. It's said that this cheaper iPhone will not include a fingerprint scanner, and instead rely on the Apple FaceID instead. It may also feature the ability to house dual-SIM cards, an important consideration in the Asian and European markets where consumers may switch between carriers depending on which country they're in. Both of these phones will feature stainless steel edges, and there is a possibility Apple will add a gold color option for both of these pricier iPhones.

The device, code named D33, will apparently tout a similar screen resolution as the iPhone X and also use an OLED display - which are pricier than the LCD screens found on most phones.

If you haven't heard already, Apple is supposedly working on a super-sized iPhone X that it might launch this autumn. The leakster "Mr-white" revealed three images of the next generation iPhone X and one of them was in gold color.

Apple is to launch a huge new iPhone with a 6.5-inch screen later this year - bigger than any previous iPhone handset. But with a dual-SIM, a compromise might be reached.

Like the iPhone X, all three iPhones will have Face ID, curved edge displays and of course, the top front notch that got everyone talking.

This will use a similar screen to the edge-to-edge display fitted to the iPhone X.

Apple has tried selling cheaper phones in the past with poor results. It will replace the Apple iPhone 8 that has a dated design when compared to other premium smartphones in the market. Apple soon discontinued the 5c.
