The makers of the much-awaited film on the "Symbiote" character from "Spider-Man" titled "Venom", have released its first trailer, starring Tom Hardy in the lead. But in spite of its minimalism, it could stand on its own without even naming the film as a poster for Venom. It's unclear how that will manifest itself in the movie.
In the Sony’s first spin-off movie Tom Hardy would star as antihero Eddie Brock, having Spider-Man-like powers.
The clip comprises of a number of scenes with a voiceover from Brock. It seems pretty clear based on the trailer that this will be an origin story.
It's worth noting that filming wrapped just days ago, so there's a decent chance that Sony simply didn't have enough footage to put together a trailer befitting a movie that stars a giant CGI monster. Directed by Ruben Fleischer, Tom Hardy plays the titular role of Venom, and we must say, after Bane in "The Dark Knight Rises" and countless other hits, we can not wait to see Tom Hardy gracing the silver screen once more in a comic character avatar.
Sony's new poster for its upcoming Venom movie is minimalist and a flawless tease for the October release.
