Netflix has released a full trailer for MARVEL'S JESSICA JONES season 2, which will dive into her mysterious origin story. Now I will be the first to point out that trailers can be deceiving and intentionally hold back elements - although it appears to drop one huge plot point here without a care - and with Michelle Rosenberg, the voice behind much of the first season's direction, returning as showrunner, I'm certain there will be some big social issues in here again.
The second season will star Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), Rachael Taylor (Trish Walker), Carrie-Anne Moss (Jeri Hogarth), Eka Darville (Malcolm Ducasse) and new cast members Janet McTeer and J.R. Ramirez, among others. In the teaser, we saw Jessica trying to move on from her past while it continuously catches up with her.
It seems that Jones is investigating the horrific crash that killed her parents, and the sinister lab that experimented on her and gave her super powers for some unknown reason. "You were brought back from the death". Then, in the signature Jessica Jones style, there will be an abundance of punching, drinking, and sarcasm. As Trish says in the trailer that Jessica may need a sidekick, it is assumed that she will take on her Hellcat persona in the upcoming season. Season 2 has Jessica (Krysten Ritter) dealing with the repercussions from season 1 along with the auto crash that killed her family which led to the experiments that made her who she is now. Did Kilgrave ever have any experience of IGH himself?
Alongside the cool trailer, the streaming giant treats fans to a new poster of the sophomore season of the Marvel series.
Now, two-and-a-half years, four new shows, and five seasons later, Jessica Jones returns having never been bettered.
