Google has previously stated that, the new Android Oreo update is designed for the premium Android smartphones of future. On top of everything Android 8.0 Oreo also brings a whole new emoji set to the table, and much more. However, a new information has surfaced online that reveals that the smartphone could get some features of the Android Oreo-based EMUI 8.0. After three beta releases, the company is not quite satisfied that the update is ready for general release.
Android 8.0 Oreo is undoubtedly the most advanced Android update till date and for that very same reason, people around the world have been waiting for this update on their respective Android smartphones.
However, considering the small number of users who have installed the newly released OS version, there are not many devices benefitting from this update, with brands like Samsung and LG, which have not yet moved their devices to the new Android version.
Customers that are now in the beta program will also receive the stable OTA.
Android 8.0 Oreo beta on the Essential Phone first became available around the same time as 8.1 started hitting Pixel and Nexus devices, but the company was quick to confirm that it would be launching that update after 8.0 was finalized.
Even bad news is often sweetened when communicated sincerely and in a timely fashion, which "Team Essential" is trying to do today. So instead of worrying about the stability issues with Android 8, moving to Android 8.1 hopefully will resolve most of those problems. Essential cites "several stability issues" in Android 8.0 that are triggering this change.
As far as we have heard, we have not heard of phone manufacturers running into any issues with Android 8.0. We now don't have a release date for it, but we'll let you know when it begins getting pushed out.
