Sridevi passes away due to cardiac arrest in Dubai

Legendary Bollywood actor Sridevi has died of cardiac arrest in Dubai. According to reports, some of the family members returned from Dubai after the wedding whereas Sridevi, her husband Boney Kapoor stayed back in Dubai.

Born on August 13, 1963, in Sivakasi, India, Sridevi started her career as a child artist, she subsequently established herself as one of the most popular leading actresses in Bollywood. Some of her most memorable Bollywood contributions include Mr. India, Nagina, Lamhe, Chaalbaaz, Chandani, English Vinglish and a lot more.

The Padma Shri actress has been known for her films in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.

When she became a mother for the first time with daughter Janhavi, she went away from the movie business.

Social media was abuzz with her tragic death from around midnight but it was widely believed to a rumour.

Sridevi was hugely admired for her energy, charm. dance and great comic timing. Her daughter Janhvi is set to make her Bollywood debut this year with Karan Johar’s directorial Dhadak. Condolences to her family and friends.

Kick actress Jacqueline Fernandez said she was "an absolute icon" while former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen said she "could not stop crying" since hearing the tragic news.
