Sega made the announcement today via press release, and there is an additional surprise. Not only is the company bringing Valkyria Chronicles 4 to the Switch later this year but Shining Resonance Refrain has been fully revealed for the system.
As per the norm with any spruced up video game release, fans can expect the title to look and play better thanks to enhanced visuals and resolution, while there's also a new scenario that examines an alternate take on the game's storyline.
SEGA marked the occasion with the release of a Shining Resonance Refrain trailer showing off the attractive remaster. Furthermore, Shining Resonance Refrain offers a new Refrain Mode that unlocks the Imperial Princess Excella and Dragonslayer Jinas as party members for "a new experience". Depending on the bonds of the characters, "Resonance" may occur between them, providing a new level of support, leading to victory.
Your party of Dragoneers wield Armonics, ancient weapon-instruments, and can perform mystical and powerful Rune Songs. Characters work and fight together to build up their relationships and a resource called BPM (Battle Performance Mana) so they can shred a wicked-sick guitar solo or blow the enemy away with some mad flute skills.
These first run copies of Shining Resonance Refrain will include a metal slipcase to protect their games with Excella, Kirika and Sonia on it.
To pre-order Shining Resonance Refrain, or for more information, check out the Shining Resonance homepage. Shining Resonance: Refrain will be available across the world at some point this summer for $49.99 US. It stars Yuma, a young man who has the soul of the "Shining Dragon" within him. Dragons have always been thought to be extinct, which soon makes Yuma a target for the Empire.
