Kent's super blue moon

Tonight a Super Blue-Blood Moon total lunar eclipse will be fully visible from Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, Indonesia and eastern Asia.

If you're able to see to Super Blue Blood Moon, don't forget to share your photos with us.

So what exactly is this thing?

"This coming full moon is unusual in that it is the second full moon of the month, when typically there is only one full moon per calendar month". The totality of the moon will begin at 6:51 a.m. and that is when the moon will have a reddish color. Adding to the naming confusion, this full moon was also known as the "snow moon" by some Native American tribes.

"This lunar eclipse will also occur during a full supermoon, making the blood moon appear larger than the average lunar eclipse", Lada said.

This July 27, the UAE should witness a second lunar eclipse, made more spectacular by the Moon's proximity to Mars, which will be at its closest orbit to Earth since 2003. However, in the Rogue Valley, there will be the chance for areas of fog to develop that could obscure or limit the view of the Super Blue Blood Moon.

This is so because our earth's atmosphere allows only red wavelength to pass and called as the blood moon. As per NASA, this would make the moon look closer as well as brighter than a full moon at its farthest point from Earth. "I'm calling it the Super Bowl of moons", lunar scientist Noah Petro said Monday from NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. They will not be seen together again until 2037, the Taipei Astronomical Museum said in a statement. And the farther west one goes, the better the view will be, according to the New York Times.

The biggest challenge in viewing the eclipse - which will be easily seen from Western Canada - will be the weather.

Despite the name, though, the moon won't actually appear blue.
