There is dual SIM support (nano), a rear mounted fingerprint scanner, NFC (select model), USB 2.0 Type-C port, and a 3000mAh battery.
The most affordable entry from Alcatel this MWC, the Alcatel 1X isn't just a budget device, but it runs on Android Go, a lite version of Android 8 Oreo that's created to operate on smartphones with 1GB RAM or lesser.
TCL Communication who own the Alcatel brand of smartphones are among the first to roll out their new range of smartphones at this year's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and among them are some real bargains. They all have quad-core MediaTek processors and facial recognition features (though in all cases, Alcatel isn't using anything as fancy - and likely as reliable - as Apple's Face ID).
The Alcatel 1T tablets will be available in both 7-inch and 10-inch IPS display, the quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB (IT 10)/8GB (IT7). Just like the 1x, the phone also includes 16GB of internal memory that can be expanded, though in this case up to 128GB. The 3V also sports a 2160 x 1080 screen and dual-lens camera, while the 3X has a lower-res 1440- x 720 LCD panel but also packs in a rear two-camera system. The Alcatel 3 Series is priced at 149 Euros, which comes to approximately $231 CAD. It is powered by the same processor as the Alcatel 3 with 3Gb of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
RAM measures in at 2GB and the phone's processor is MT6739 quad-core silicon. The Alcatel 3X runs on Nougat while the other two devices in the same segment get the Android Oreo operation. It also includes 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage.
Available in multiple colors starting in April, the Alcatel 1X will start from 99 euros for the single-SIM version and 109 euros for the dual-SIM model. The 3, 3X, and 3V cost €150, €180, and €190, respectively - around $185, $222, and $234. However, one model runs Android Oreo.
Puzzling is the fact that only the 3 and 3V are running Android Oreo. Considering these specs, it's actually impressive to see Android 8.1 Oreo in the About section of the settings, and it's even more impressive that Oreo Go edition is fully serviceable. The Alcatel 1X with single SIM and dual SIM support will be available in April for Euro 100 and Euro 110 respectively. Under the hood, MediaTek MT8735A quad-core SoC paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. The 7-inch variant will have a resolution of 1024×600 and go on sale for €70 in spring while the 10-inch variant will go on sale for €100 with 1280×800 resolution. It is backed by a 2460mAh battery that is rated to give up to 26 hours of talk time.
