Georgia Locks Up 2018's Top-Ranked Recruiting Class, Edging Ohio State

The 2018 recruiting cycle has wrapped up.

Ohio State isn't far behind. It wouldn't be signing day if a parent, decked in the gear of rival SEC schools, didn't walk off a live shot on national television after her son picked a third SEC school.

" Still a lot to unfold and it's not as if we're lacking storylines, we're just lacking storylines in terms of sheer numbers just because the player pool shrunk so much", said Tom Luginbill, ESPN's National Recruiting Director. All three recruits will make their respective decisions at 10:00 a.m. ET. It starts with quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who 247Sports considers the No. 1 prospect in the class of 2018. The same goes for strong-side defensive end Xavier Thomas, who ranks No. 3. Some choose to avoid the cameras and be quiet about their business.

Athletes across the Charlotte region will sign their national letters of intent to play at the next level.

National Signing Day may have lost a bit of its luster recently, with the NCAAs new early-signing period but Wednesday will still be a special day for a number of local athletes.
