And Hamilton, whose Mercedes team also broke cover with their new auto at Silverstone on Thursday, admitted he could not rule out the prospect of further fireworks this season.
Ferrari has unveiled its 2018 Formula One auto - the SF71-H - at an event at its headquarters in Maranello.

The auto has now a longer wheelbase in the front to extract a more aerodynamic effect, and the sidepods have changed dramatically in comparison to last year's model.
The presentation at a snow-covered Maranello came on the same day as Mercedes' launch at Silverstone, as the rival teams compete for media attention even before a wheel is turned in official testing.
Ferrari chief technical officer Mattia Binotto says there are areas of the SF71H that are "more aggressive, more innovative" than last year's vehicle. We try to retain the strengths, and some of the strengths I would say are the aggressiveness of the concept we designed, a vehicle that was performing very well on low-speed circuits.
"The real magic happens underneath but every little detail matters, every part can make a difference, and this year's auto is a big step from last year's one".
The new vehicle also features a protective halo device around the cockpit that is mandatory for all cars this season. You get used to it, " Raikkonen said.
Ferrari hasn't won a title since taking the 2008 constructors' championship, while Raikkonen claimed the team's last driver's title back in 2007. It is more of an aggressive design that allows more airflow into the back of the auto.
