The security staff at the station were shocked to see the silhouette of a woman that they noticed on the X-ray screen, according to a DailyMail report.
"You see new unusual things every day", a person wrote on social media after seeing the Dongguan footage.
A woman in southern China was so attached to her handbag that she crawled into an X-ray security scanner rather than let it out of her sight.
It's still not known why the woman climbed into the X-ray machine.
The Daily Star of United Kingdom reported yesterday that the incident took place at Dongguan Railway Station in China's southern Guangdong Province. An eerie X-ray images of a Chinese woman crawling through a luggage scanner at a railway station to protect her hand bag has become the biggest hit in the social media ahead of Lunar Year celebrations tomorrow.
But officers were stunned when she started to climb on herself and were left so speechless they did not stop her as she collected her bags and rushed to get her train.
Thankfully, the woman wouldn't have been exposed to that much radiation from the machine, but it's always best to avoid it if you can.

"Do not [put] yourself into the security inspection machine", passengers were told.
She did put her handbag on conveyor belt but to the staff's utter disbelief she followed her bag and climbed on herself.
Even if you're particularly attached to your belongings, don't jump into an X-ray machine.
