Cavaliers Acquire Protected 2024 Second Round Pick from Miami

The Cleveland Cavaliers have overhauled their roster with three deals, including one that sends Dwyane Wade back to Miami, a person with knowledge of the situation says.

According to ESPN, the Cavaliers have traded Wade to the Heat for a heavily protected second-round pick in 2020. He has already mended the fences with team president Pat Riley, and the unwavering adoration from the fan base has remained quite strong.

"I've missed them and I know they've missed me", he told the AP.

This move should improve Wade's fantasy outlook considering he'll get a few more looks now that he's not playing alongside LeBron James at times.

Wade signed with the Cavs in September after working out a buyout with the Chicago Bulls.

Wade was one of six players that the Cavaliers moved to shake up the roster for a strong second-half push toward competing for an National Basketball Association title.

After shipping Isaiah Thomas and Channing Frye to the Los Angeles Lakers along with their 2018 first round pick for Larry Nance Jr. and Jordan Clarkson, the team pulled off a 3-team trade with Utah and Sacremento that netted them George Hill from the Kings and Rodney Hood from the Jazz.

Wade wasn't the only trade from the Miami Heat.

Wade, 36, is the Heat's all-time leader in several categories, including points (20,221), assists (3,933), steals (1,414) and games (855).

Wade is getting his wish, as he said he wanted to end his career where he started, and he is getting his chance to go back.
