Companies like Samsung, HMD Global (license holder for Nokia brand), Sony and Xiaomi are expected to unveil their new offerings at the upcoming MWC in February in Barcelona. The Taiwanese PC hardware and smartphone giant, ASUS has sent out press invites for an event that will happen just ahead of MWC 2018. The company has announced that it will hold an event on 27th February and has started sending out media invites.
Asus will be livestreaming the press event from 7.30pm CET (6.30pm GMT) on the day.
Asus had said in September last year that we could expect its ZenFone 5 series to be launched in the first quarter of the new year.
Given that Qualcomm's logo is present in the invite, we're pretty confident that most (if not all) Zenfone 5 series smartphones will use Snapdragon mobile platforms. Some rumors suggest that we might see at least three devices - Zenfone 5, Zenfone 5 Lite and Zenfone 5 Max with massive battery.
Coming back to this news, Recently at WiFi Alliance one Asus Device with model number ASUS_X00QD is certified.
The Asus ZenFone 5 Lite, on the other hand, was certified in Russian Federation. According to the poster, phones should arrive with Snapdragon chipsets.
