From industry experts predicting it to be a dud to becoming the fastest-selling home console in United States history, the Nintendo's hybrid console's legacy is now assured. The sales figure surpasses that of the previous record holder, Nintendo's very own Wii console, that shipped roughly 4 million units in the same timeframe back in 2006.
Considering the disaster that was Wii U, it's pretty astounding to see Nintendo make the comeback that it has.
The Switch has sold 4.8 million units in the United States in its first 10 months on the market, beating the previous all-time best seller - Nintendo's Wii - which sold 4 million US units in the first 10 months following its release.
This is an impressive feat, even if you consider the Switch to be handheld device.
It's no surprise by now that Nintendo had a stellar year in 2017, thanks to the hugely successful Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo recently updated their Nintendo Switch sales forecast this year predicting that the company will sell at least 20 million units by the end of their 2018 fiscal year.
Keeping consumers interested in the console are the games available for the Nintendo Switch.
After the launch of Switch, Nintendo is completely looking to focus on its hybrid console and new titles coming this year. Nintendo revealed that 60% of Switch owners purchased Super Mario Odyssey, while 55% own Breath of the Wild.
