The Redmi 5 Plus features a larger 5.99-inch display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The Redmi 5 comes packed with a 3300mAh battery, while the Redmi 5 Plus uses a 4000mAh battery. Storage can be expanded with a microSD card. A 3,300mAh battery backs the Redmi 5, and a 4,000mAh battery supports the Redmi 5 Plus. The Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus offer a 12-megapixel raise camera with a 1.25-micron pixel sensor, a f/2.2 opening, PDAF, and blaze, while they additionally don a 5-megapixel front camera with a delicate light selfie streak module. The 3GB RAM + 32GB storage of the "Plus" variant comes at CNY 999, while the 4GB RAM + 64GB is priced at CNY 1299. The larger Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus is around £112 for the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage version or about £135 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model. Both cameras got LED flash support.

Although the Split screen multitasking functionality was added to Android Nougat update itself earlier this year, the Xiaomi devices will get it in the form of MIUI 9 update.
