UFC fighter Destroys Alistair Overeem In One Of Year's Best Knockouts

The former Strikeforce and Dream heavyweight champion, Overeem, squared off with unsafe knockout artist Francis Ngannou in the co-main event of tonight's UFC 218 fight card in Detroit, Michigan.

Ngannou entered bout on a nine-fight winning streak including finishes in all five of his UFC appearances.

Ngannou now improves to 6-0 in the UFC following this knockout of Overeem, with all six wins coming by knockout or submission. After charging across the cage to start the fight, Overeem tried for a takedown and then initiated a clinch, though it didn't take long for Ngannou to turn him and force him into the fence as a counter. NGannou didn't make it comfortable for him though, firing off knees and foot stomps until the referee separated them. Ngannou delivered a thunderous left hand that shut the lights off Overeem in the first round. Overeem crashed to the canvas and Ngannou landed one more shot before the referee stepped in.

The 31-year-old Ngannou was homeless five years ago on the streets of Paris, France.

Who would you like to see former UFC heavyweight title challenger Alistair Overeem fight in his next octagon appearance?

"I feel very good, very good". "I took this because the victor should get a title shot and I think I got it".
