Pizza Hut testing beer delivery in Phoenix

Pizza Hut testing beer delivery in Phoenix

Pizza Hut clearly realized that: The delivery giant is testing a service that will deliver beer with your pie. The service will debut in Phoenix, Arizona with six-packs of Budweiser, Bud Light, and Shock Top.

Pizza Hut will eventually expand to single-serving and full-bottle options.

Pizza Hut parent Yum Brands Inc has been working to turn around sales at the chain.

Beer and wine are already now served at many Pizza Hut locations, so the brand has some advantages.

The inclusion of alcohol may help the pizza chain in its competition with others like Papa John's or Domino's, which only offer water and soft drinks for delivery. By the end of the year, the company expects to hire 14,000 new drivers.

Rival Papa John's global sells beer and wine at a handful of locations in the western United States and at locations in Latin America, China and Russian Federation. Customers will also be required to show proof age when the delivery arrives.
