Blizzard has announced the return of the Winter Wonderland event, which means more holiday-themed fun, skins, and the revenge of Mei's Snowball Offensive.
While Winter Wonderland is a revival of last year's event, Blizzard is bringing some major new additions. As happened past year, the winter holiday event, Overwatch Winter Wonderland will also take place this month, bringing a new PvE mode, new skins, and cosmetics for all Overwatch Heroes. It's an asymmetrical multiplayer mode: Modeled after a boss fight à la Evolve, it pits five Meis against one "yeti", Winston. Kaplan confirmed a "long-awaited Hanzo skin" as well as a skin for both Junkrat and Roadhog, leaving players to speculate on the rest. "I know a lot of you are thinking 'it sounds kind of silly and kind of ridiculous, ' and well, I'm here to tell you it absolutely is", says game director Jeff Kaplan in a video (seen below). King's Row and Hanamura will once again be sporting their frosty good looks, and there's a new seasonal update for the Black Forest arena map too.

In the mode, which takes place on the Nepal map, the Mei players will start out hunting Winston while he tries to evade them and track down stacks of meat.
Once enough meat has been devoured, Winston's Primal Rage mode will activate and the tables will turn. Meis can flee and regroup with the aid of ice walls and ice traps. If he fully charges it up, the Meis will need to do whatever they can to escape. "But the point of some of these seasonal brawls are just to be fun to be fun and light and refreshing for a short period of time".
