OnePlus 5T Star Wars Edition announced in India

At the Comic Con Bangalore event, the OnePlus 5T Star Wars Limited Edition smartphone was unveiled by the company.

While a textured crimson finish can be found on the OnePlus 5T's alert toggle switch, again drawing inspiration from the lightsaber activation switch on Ren's lightsaber, as well as the engines of a spacecraft he appears to use to blow up a ship with his mother on board - or so we're led to speculate from the trailer. The special edition OnePlus 5T is expected to carry lots of Star Wars effects built into the software.

The OnePlus 5T Star Wars Limited Edition will have a white back and black front panel, which is somewhat reminiscent of the Nexus 5. As you can see in the image attached above, the phone sports a white paint job, while the Star Wars logo lives at the bottom.

Starting from December 15, the new OnePlus 5T Star Wars Limited Edition will be on sale on,, but also in Noida and Bengaluru.

OnePlus is holding a special launch event in Mumbai on December 14 to formally show off the special device. With the OnePlus 3T, the company announced the Colette edition in matte black color and Colette logo at the rear. OnePlus will gain more buyers for its newly launched handset, and the Star Wars distributors will achieve a wide range of promotion for their upcoming movie Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Moreover, there is no information on if this special edition will be exclusive to India or whether it will made available in other countries as well.

The OnePlus 5T runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and it is unknown whether the OS has received an update to Android 8.0 out of the box unlike the recently launched phones like Sony Xperia XZ1 and the HTC U11. The smartphone features a 6-inch FHD+ Optic AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
