LaVar Ball pulls son LiAngelo Ball out of UCLA, ESPN reports

"We are exploring other options with Gelo", LaVar Ball told ESPN. "He's out of there". Teammates Cody Riley and Jalen Hill remain suspended by UCLA.

A reason LiAngelo Ball was on the UCLA roster was due to his older brother, Lonzo, starring there a year ago, and because his five-star recruit younger brother, LaMelo, is slated to go there in 2019.

His outspoken father LaVar Ball is reportedly yanking him out of UCLA as a student and an athlete amid the scandal of him stealing from four high-end stores in China a few weeks ago.

LiAngelo was a freshman and never actually played a game for the team. They were detained for about a week in China before the case against them was dropped, with President Donald Trump saying he spoke on behalf of the players to Chinese President Xi Jinping.

"They don't know how to coach my son", LaVar Ball said in November, according to Bleacher Report.

"I told my boys that one of them wasn't going to make it". Currently, there's no telling how LiAngelo being pulled from the Bruins' program might affect LaMelo's commitment or if LaVar even wants to honor that commitment at this point.

It looks like LiAngelo Ball will now be attending Big Baller Academy.

Though there have been signs of stardom for Lonzo Ball - he became the youngest player in National Basketball Association history to record a triple double - he has had an uneven rookie season, shooting just over 30% from the floor.

LaVar Ball is notorious for doing things his way.

"It's not a new policy, it's an existing policy", a Lakers spokesperson told ESPN.
