Jak and Daxter PS2 Classics Available for Download on PS4 December 6

The PS2 retro theme for PS4 will be available to download from the PlayStation Store on December 6, which coincides with the launch of the free December PlayStation Plus games. Jak 2, Jak 3, and Jak X Combat Racing will be making their big return next week, as they join Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy on the PlayStation 4!

Experience these Naughty Dog PS2 classics with 1080p up-rendering and Trophy support.

Sony has revealed when the rest of the Jak and Daxter saga will be available on PS4. This had a very salubrious effect on the Jak and Daxter games on the whole.

See the official game site here and the announcement here on the PS Blog.

"In 2003, Naughty Dog released Jak II for the PlayStation 2 system, and something fantastic happened for the Jak and Daxter franchise: Jak was able to speak for the first time, enabling players to hear and experience Jak's own point of view using his voice, instead of relying exclusively on Daxter's witty banter and exposition". Alternatively, the three titles can be purchased as a bundle for $39.99. When Jak 3 and Jak X were released, the franchise saw a brand new day unfold in its history. This was a trait Jak has kept ever since and was something that allowed Naughty Dog to take the franchises' narrative to the next level. With Jak able to talk, Naughty Dog transformed the initially whimsical tone of the series into a much darker one in succeeding games. Naughty Dog would go on to create the Uncharted and The Last of Us franchises.
