Former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Rich Swann suspended indefinitely following domestic violence arrest

WWE Cruiserweight Rich Swann has been suspended by the company after being arrested and on domestic battery and false imprisonment charges.

Swann was attending the FEST Wrestling show at 8 Seconds in downtown Gainesville on December 9th, where his wife, independent wrestler Su Yung (real name Vannarah Riggs), was performing. The two began to discuss a match Riggs had earlier in the night, leading to Swann getting upset and angry. That second witness noted that Swann failed to put the vehicle in park during the argument, and the auto moved forward and struck a telephone pole. Multiple reports saw Riggs yelling for help and forcefully placed in a headlock only to be placed back in the auto while Swann drove away. While she said she did not want to get back in the vehicle, Swann is said to have grabbed Riggs by her arm then around her neck, putting her in a headlock and dragging her back to the auto, pushing her back into the auto.

The former one-time WWE Cruiserweight Champion was arrested in Florida and is due to appear in court Monday. The Def gave chase and yelled for the Vic to get back in the vehicle.

Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned WWE Superstar Rich Swann is now behind bars.

According to the Mirror (h/t Joshua Gagnon of WrestlingInc), Swann could be sentenced to up to five years in prison if convicted on the kidnapping charge.

The Gainesville Police Department has released a police report via their twitter page outlining the incident for which Swann has been charged. Under that policy, anyone arrested for a domestic violence incident is subsequently suspended indefinitely pending the criminal investigation. The Alachua County Sheriff in Florida says Swann was taken into custody around 12 AM and no bail amount has been posted.
