Ball brothers sign with agent, look to play overseas

Lavar Ball told ESPN on Thursday morning that his two younger sons, LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball, have both signed with agent Harrison Gaines with the intention of playing overseas. Instantly, I knew everything I thought I knew about Lavar Ball and his family was wrong.

"He's not going to play college basketball", LaVar told Jeff Goodman of ESPN.

"LiAngelo could probably play third division in Spain, France or Germany", an National Basketball Association scout told Yahoo Sports.

The pair reportedly signed with Harrison Gaines, who represents older brother Lonzo, the second-overall pick of the 2017 NBA Draft and the starting point guard for the Los Angeles Lakers.

LaMelo, who is one of the top high-school recruits in the nation, will no longer be eligible to play in the NCAA after signing with an agent.

But LiAngelo won't be returning to college basketball, and LaMelo apparently won't ever get there. The players were arrested for shoplifting during a team trip.

Ball's father, LaVar, told the Los Angeles Times that UCLA's suspension for the shoplifting charger was too stringent.

Vitale also said that LiAngelo Ball has no chance of playing in the National Basketball Association.

"Mr. Ball was the only youngster of the three to steal from three stores (in China)", Vitale said.

This comes after LaVar yanked LaMelo from Chino Hills High School earlier this year to train and home-school him before doing the same with LiAngelo, taking him out of UCLA earlier this week. It's a future that has nearly certainly been made more unlikely by this move.

'I don't know the deals and who is offering what, ' Ball said. "I just need to get them playing again".
