Video Shows Police Officer Punch Miami Fan After Being Slapped

Police are investigating a videotaped altercation in which an apparently intoxicated University of Miami football fan slaps an officer, who then punches her in the head. He then punches her hard enough to make her head snap back and elicit a response from the crowd.

Saturday night's incident at the nationally televised game was posted on the Instagram account The 5th Year/Barstool Sports.

Officers responded to the scene at the Tuscany Place Apartments at 25430 SW 137th Avenue and found the body of a girl believed to be between 3 and 8 years old and African-American, Miami-Dade Police officials said.

The officer's name hasn't been released, according to The Associated Press.

Police say Freitas was belligerent, arguing with fans and cursing. At that moment, the officer retaliates by hitting the woman in the face.

Farrington put her daughter's body in the trunk of her 2013 Nissan Altima sedan "for several days", police said, until the smell became so bad that at about 1 a.m. Sunday, she moved the body to the dumpster.

I can think of very few things that are more outright stupid than slapping a damn cop, and I'm someone who still has a scar on her chin because, as a child, I once tried to use a body pillow as a jump rope substitute.

"After responding to a disturbance, the person in the video was being removed from the event by our officers for being disorderly".

"Supervisory personnel are aware of the video, and are reviewing the incident to ensure compliance with our policies and procedures".

Freitas was one of 23 ejections and two arrests Saturday night, according to Miami-Dade police.
