The Tri-Town parade which includes Rockland, Whitman, and Abington kicks off tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. on Union St.in Rockland and will go through Rockland Center before ending at Rockland Plaza on Route 123. The parade is scheduled from 11 a.m.to noon and will be led by 100 veterans from Bay Area motorcycle clubs. The San Francisco Veterans Day Paradewon't actually take place on Veterans Day, but the Sunday event will begin on the Embarcadero at North Point Street and head into Fisherman's Wharf along Jefferson Street.
The ODVA will host its Veterans Day Celebration at 2 p.m. Saturday at the WWII Memorial in Salem. Command Sgt. Maj. Joseph R. Menard, a combat engineer, will be the keynote speaker, discussing the contributions of Army engineers during war and peace.
Beginning at 8:30 a.m. Hingham Town Hall will be hosting a breakfast for military personell and their families, followed by a ceremony at 11 a.m. and a wreath laying. A service will also be held at 6 p.m.at the Wilton Congregational Church with Sammie Angel as the guest singer.
