New e-governance app UMANG launched by PM Modi is now available for Windows 10 Mobile phones in India.
Key Benefits for Citizens: - Single-Point Ubiquitous Access: All government services are available for citizens on a unified platform for easy access through multiple online and offline channels (SMS, email, app, and web). At the back-end, these services will be catered for by many different departments of the Union and State Governments. It was originally announced past year by the Prime Minister's office as part of the Digital India Initiate, undertaken by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
Spice Digital has been chosen as the technology partner on the UMANG project to design, develop and deliver the apps. The availability of the app in 12 regional languages in addition to English makes the app user friendly and relevant to tier 2, 3 cities and the rural areas, thus widening the scope and exposure of the app.
Few of the features of the app are integration with Digital India services such as Aadhaar, DigiLocker, and PayGov.
The lately launched Umang App brings 162 government services on a single mobile app and provides more than 1200 services of various government services from Centre.
Citizens will be able to access Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) services, apply for a new permanent account number (PAN), and those looking for jobs can register themselves under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana.
UMANG application gives a unified approach to deal with profit numerous taxpayer supported organizations. It is completely free of cost.
Users need not share their Aadhaar number, PAN number or other such information while using the app to look for information about various government departments. There's also a dedicated customer care support team for Umang app who works from 8 AM to 8 PM every day.
You can also download by means of giving a missed call or SMS to "9718397183". In line with the same, Umang is also one such initiative to promote Modi's Digital India program.
