Tennessee's Jauan Jennings Dismissed From Team After Calling Coaches Liars On Instagram

Hoke told Nashville radio station 104.5 The Zone that he consulted with Athletic Director John Currie and they reached a decision to dismiss Jennings.

On Wednesday, Jennings posted a video on Instagram criticizing the Tennessee football coaching staff with cursing and name calling throughout. "Representing the University of Tennessee football program is a privilege".

Tennessee football is having a rough year, and Jauan Jennings has only added to the negative headlines surrounding the program.

Jennings said he went to practice on Wednesday with hopes of playing against Vanderbilt on Saturday, going into a rant about how much he hates the Commodores. "It's straight f*cking coaching".

"Please, Tennessee, send us a great coaching staff", Jennings said in part of the video. But he hadn't played since injuring his wrist in a season-opening 42-41 double-overtime victory over Georgia Tech.

Jennings, a junior, entered the season as Tennessee's leading returning receiver.

Best known for making a catch on a Hail Mary pass from Joshua Dobbs to beat Georgia in 2016, Jennings was viewed by his teammates as one of the most competitive players on the roster.

Jennings leaves Tennessee with career numbers of 57 catches for 746 yards and 7 touchdowns in 26 games.
