Shahid Kapoor urges detractors to give Padmavati a chance

Yesterday, Haryana's Health minister Anil Vij had said the state government would not allow the film to be released in Haryana and will approach the censor board to seek a ban on Padmavati. The film has its own merit and we just want that the censor board gives us a screening date so that we can take it ahead.

"Padmavati", scheduled to release on December 1, is surrounded by a controversy as some Hindu groups and political parties, claim that the film distorts history and wrongly portrays Rajput queen Padmavati, a contention Bhansali has repeatedly rebuffed. We have tried to keep everyone's feelings and interests in mind. "We will respect whatever people think of the film but you should see it first", he told PTI. The few promotional events that took place saw only Deepika Padukone without Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor. Actor Ranveer Singh will be seen as Alauddin Khilji, the Delhi sultan.

Meanwhile, the handsome hunk of Bollywood also said that the entire team is proud of the movie.

Now the film industry has come out in the support of the film, recently the Indian Film and TV Directors Association (IFTDA) held a press conference in the support of the film and its director. The makers are being pressurized for delaying the release of the film. Sometimes the trailer or the film is so nice that everyone comes out and says great we have a film like this here.

The actor was speaking at GQ Fashion Nights, where he walked the ramp for designer Gaurav Gupta. The first posters of Padmavati, featuring Deepika, were also burnt.

Shahid Kapoor has urged people to watch his upcoming film Padmavati without prejudice. It is my favourite song and I am happy everyone liked it, be it the chemistry or the visualisation. "Sanjay Leela Bhansali has made a lovely film and I hope he is protected by the people who understand that creativity is a form of expression", he said to News18. "It's going to be special", she said.
