Before revealing this tragic news and just hours after his son's death, Marquise played in an National Football League game against the New York Giants and scored an 83 yard touchdown in their win.
In an Instagram post, Goodwin said that he and his wife had lost their prematurely born child that very morning.
At the time, no one knew the tragic pain he and his wife, Morgan, endured during the early hours of Sunday morning.
"Please pray for the Goodwin family", he added.
According to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports, he left Levi's Stadium immediately after the game had finished, but the wideout revealed on his Instagram why he was so emotional after his touchdown, and unfortunately, it's for a very sad reason. Meanwhile, thousands of viewers at home were unaware of the story behind Goodwin's display.
Both Goodwin and Goodwin-Snow are career athletes; they were stars on the track team at the University of Texas at Austin. "Despite our loss, my hubby kept grinding, scored his son a touchdown & got our first "W" of the season".
"I just wanna thank those who've genuinely prayed for [wife Morgan Goodwin] & myself throughout this pregnancy", Goodwin began. "But that's okay because we won't stop fighting and we won't give up on what God has in store for us".
