Man in Custody After Stabbing at Mall of America

At least two people were stabbed at Macy's department store in the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota just before 6.45pm on Sunday.

What started as simple robbery attempt quickly escalated into a violent, multi-victim incident after the would-be thief was caught stealing from two men inside a fitting room.

Chief Potts says the victim interrupted the theft and the suspect pulled a knife on him.

Bloomington police said officers were at the scene but offered no further information.

After the victim let out a scream, his family rushed to help him while the suspect allegedly stabbed a second person. They don't believe the suspect knew the victims and Potts said he didn't know yet where the victims were from.

Both of the stabbing victims, according to CBS News, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect also was wounded.

Abdirahaman sneaked into a men's fitting room at the Minnesota mall and tried to swipe something from a customer's belongings while the man was outside the fitting room modeling clothes for his family. "By the time we got to the main area - the men's department is to the right - more police started running in with their guns drawn".
