The body of a missing woman is believed to have been found in the backyard of her son's home, according to First Coast News.
"The burial site was excavated today and human remains were located". They took an Uber home from the airport Wednesday after French never showed up to get them.
At a Friday press conference, police did not describe Logan Mott as a suspect, instead saying: "We need to talk to him about what happened in the house", a police representative said.
Police said Logan, and the missing Dodge Dart, were spotted Thursday on surveillance video in south central Pennsylvania. They have identified him as a person of interest in the death of his grandmother, deputies wrote in a Facebook post.
Logan's father, Eric Mott, is a 17-year veteran of the sheriff's office. The silver Dodge Dart initially described in the Florida Missing Child Alert issued on Wednesday is still missing.
Logan Mott was not in need of insulin, sheriff's office Director Ron Lendvay told reporters.
Mott's mother Carrie Campbell-Mott released the following statement after learning her son was in custody, CBS affiliate WJAX reports: "We are relieved he is safe and in custody and we just ask for everyone to give us time to sort out what happened".
Eric Mott's guns were missing from a gun safe, Campbell-Mott said.
It's a tragic update in the days-long search to find a missing 15-year-old and his grandmother.
Rumors began to circulate that something bad had happened inside the Mott house some time between last Friday, when Logan was last seen at school, and Wednesday when his father returned. The youth was a student at Sandalwood High School in Jacksonville.
'I love you. Please call me.
"Logan has so many friends and family that are desperate to hear from him", she said.
Logan's mother told via the Florida Times-Union she last spoke to her son Sunday, with the mother saying he seemed to her to be in a good mood.
