The press conference was announced in a press release from the office of lawyer Mitchell Garabedian, who has represented sexual abuse victims of Catholic priests.
A MA mother on Wednesday accused Kevin Spacey of sexually assaulting her 18-year-old son on the holiday island of Nantucket last year and said police had opened a criminal investigation.
Unruh made her damaging claims more than two weeks before Star Trek actor Anthony Rapp got an apology after he said the actor, then 26, tried to seduce him when he was just 14. She told him to run, and he did. Her son was 18 at the time.
"The sexual assaults, the sexual harassment, the sexual perversion must be stopped, and one way to stop it is for fearless victims and their families to speak out so that children are safe, other victims are empowered and the victims themselves are emboldened", Garabedian said.
"It harmed him and it can not be undone", she said. Our sources say the alleged victim reported the incident to police by phone sometime this year. he lives out of state.
She also spoke directly to Spacey. According to British media, London police are also investigating him for an alleged assault in 2008. Police are now conducting an investigation, she said.
"The #weinsteinscandal has emboldened me- #truth time".
"To Kevin Spacey, I want to say this: Shame on you for what you did to my son", Unruh said as she fought back tears. "Time the dominoes fell", she wrote.
Many were outraged by Spacey's statement, using it as a coming out message to deflect the allegations.
Spacey has not responded to the mounting allegations but apologized to Rapp for what he called "deeply inappropriate drunken behavior". "You are not alone", she said last week on Twitter.
His claims were corroborated by other crew members of "House of Cards", including an assistant camera man and a female production assistant, who claimed to have seen Spacey inappropriately touch male crew members and make lewd comments.
Since then, other allegations have surfaced and the Oscar-winning star said he is seeking "evaluation and treatment".
