At least three killed in California school shooting

Brian Flint told the Record Searchlight newspaper in the city of Redding Tuesday that his neighbor, whom he knows only as Kevin, also stole his truck. A woman driving the truck was also shot, and all three are being treated for their injuries.

No one answered the phone at the elementary school, and an official speaking for Rich DuVarney, Tehama County superintendent of schools, said he was trying to find out what was happening. About 100 students attend the school, which has kindergarten through fifth grades. There are just four teachers on staff; each teaches at least two grades, according to the school newsletter. The largest town in the county, Red Bluff, has a population of about 14,000, according to the Census Bureau.
