Universal Pictures Push Back 'Fast & Furious 9' A Year

Fast and Furious 9 has been pushed back one year from its original release date, 19 April 2019.

On Instagram, Gibson posted a screen shot of the new "Fast 9" release date with a searing caption addressed directly at his costar.

"There's a lot to take in there, but most importantly, the phrase "#NoShaw just Hobbs" indicates that maybe this is actually a solo Hobbs movie, something both Diesel and Johnson have spoken about previously.

Tyrese Gibson (R) called out Dwayne Johnson (L) on Instagram for the delay of the next "Fast and Furious" movie.

The series has also continued to attract big names such as Dwayne Johnson, Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron. There have always been rumors of a spin-off film to focus on Johnson's Hobbs, which could theoretically postpone upcoming Fast installments.

"I'd like to see them (women in the film) talk to each other for a change", she told TMZ. Gibson argued as much in his first message to Johnson on Instagram in September.

Apparently Johnson's success and career decisions are not sitting well with Gibson, who came aboard the franchise with the 2003 sequel 2 Fast, 2 Furious, and took a couple films off before rejoining it again with Fast Five.

"I have never and will never have a problem with this major movie star he's my brother", he added on his own page. Recently Vin Diesel announced that he will be "Fast and Furious live tour". "Or I just might have to say goodbye to a loved franchise", the actress said at the time on social media.
