Pokemon GO users get their treats for Halloween starting tomorrow

Pokemon Go first added Shiny Magikarp and Shiny Gyarados during last spring's Water Festival, and then added Shiny Pichu, Pikachu, and Raichu over the summer.

The next generation of Pokémon will include over 100 new characters, which will gradually start to show up. Fittingly, double Candy will also be earned during the event.

"For the duration of the Halloween event, special Pikachu will also be out and about, celebrating in costume and available for Trainers to catch", Niantic said. Also, your Buddy Pokemon will find Candy twice as fast.

The announcement for the Pokemon Go event comes about a year after the first of its in-game events initiated with the first Halloween celebration, followed by the expansion of augmented reality in gaming and various other segments of the tech industry.

Pokemon Go is getting a new batch of monsters to collect this Halloween, developer of the location-based augmented reality app Niantic has confirmed.

Ghost-type and other creepy looking Pokemon - like Ghastly, Gengar, Cubone and Misdreavus - will appear more frequently from October 20 to November 2.

Pokemon GO's Halloween event is slated to start Friday at 12 p.m. EST. So, the more you walk, hatch, and otherwise farm your Pokemon, the more food you can stuff them full of and level them up. Finally, players can obtain "special boxes" in the in-game shop containing Raid Passes and Super Incubators.

We'll have to see if any other surprises are in store this Halloween in Pokemon Go! .
