'Killer' Harry Kane is up there with Cristiano Ronaldo

Kane netted his sixth hat-trick of the year as Spurs cruised past Apoel Nicosia on Tuesday night, backing up the two goals he scored in the home win over Borussia Dortmund.

Kane said being compared to Real Madrid star Ronaldo and Barcelona maestro Messi gave him plenty of motivation.

But Pochettino rejected reports he had suggested Kane was better than Madrid superstar Ronaldo, insisting he was determined not to put any pressure on his star asset. "I agree with Glenn". There is a gap to improve.

"All the strikers that have this type of level they have something special in front of goals". They are the best and are showing that for the last five to 10 years.

"We can not compare what is not comparable".

But while the comparison of Kane with that trio may be slightly early, the player himself revealed this week that he uses Ronaldo and Messi as motivation to become the best player in the world.

"Harry is a striker, a killer; they are killers too but play in different positions and have different styles".

"He is one of the options we have and we celebrate that, because to have the possibility to have him on the team provides us with more quality and more options to play in a different way".

Alli could be suspended for up to four games, although Sky sources understand the FA will appeal any decision to ban him. If England qualify for the World Cup in Russian Federation next summer, and should Kane continue to impress he will have the hottest clubs in Europe after his services.

"Cristiano is fantastic, one of the best", Pochettino said. "What will happen tomorrow is impossible to know".

"I've not seen it but I'm going to text Wayne to ask him how he built it". But that is a decision between the FA and us. "We need more information, to speak with the doctor, and then see what happens in the next few weeks".

Kane will turn their attentions back to the Premier League on Saturday (12:30pm) when they travel to face Huddersfield.
