Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie suspended by Giants after leaving team facility

McAdoo refused to say how long the suspension will be for, if it will be a paid or unpaid suspension or offer any specifics on what led to the decision.

On Wednesday, coach Ben McAdoo announced that cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie has been suspended after he walked out of the team's practice facility earlier in the day.

McAdoo told reporters Wednesday that he had a personal conversation with Rodgers-Cromartie, and on Wednesday morning, the veteran corner chose to leave the team. "We had a conversation that was personal upstairs", McAdoo told reporters. So he left and now the Giants are suspending him.

If the Giants suspend Rodgers-Cromartie for the full four weeks allowed, they would either have to release him or reinstate him to the roster for their November 12 game at the 49ers.

"I never really go in the season with expectations, because I always know there's going to be highs and lows of the season", Rodgers-Cromartie said. Rodgers-Cromartie also admitted to Anderson that he and McAdoo had a disagreement on Sunday and he conceded that he "handled it the wrong way".

Jordan Canaan of ESPN reported that Giants safety Landon Collins told reporters that Rodgers-Cromartie and McAdoo got into an "altercation" during Sunday's loss to the Chargers.

According to the team on Twitter, Rodgers-Cromartie showed up to work on Wednesday and then chose to tell the team he was leaving (!?!). With the addition of free agent Janoris Jenkins and first-round pick Eli Apple, however, his role has diminished slightly in recent years.
