Cavaliers Status Update on Iman Shumpert

Now, the Cavs can add shooting guard Iman Shumpert to the list of banged up players this preseason.

Shumpert suffered the injury while landing awkwardly after a missed dunk attempt with 2:16 remaining in the first quarter. "Shump", as he is known, then managed to walk to the sidelines under his own power, but he did not return to play.

Wade will likely be Cleveland's backup point guard until Thomas recovers from a hip injury, but Lue said he hasn't committed to that idea just yet.As for Crowder, Lue said his defensive presence will free up James. LeBron will be at 100 percent health when the regular #NBA season starts.

The new National Basketball Association season will not start until the next two weeks, but the Cleveland Cavaliers are already looking far ahead of the competition.

J.R. Smith is still there to hit the shots for Cleveland while Shumpert is out with his injury.

This move could help the Cavaliers compete with teams that have smaller lineups. However, while James and Love's production are obvious keys to their success moving forward, there are also three "Ds" that will determine how the Cavs season goes.

Now, the Cavs are looking to get back on top by acquiring the services of stars Derrick Rose, Dwayne Wade and Isaiah Thomas. However, Iman said that he spoke to the Cavs about his future and he will still play a major role for the team in the upcoming National Basketball Association season.
