Antonio Conte defends record after Chelsea's slow start to season

"I see the past it happened the same with a lot of managers [at Chelsea]".

Conte has said he wants to return to work in Italy and friction between him and the club over their transfer policy could even result in his leaving before the end of the season.

Carlo Ancelotti has been linked with a return to Stamford Bridge and senior players were said to have messaged former assistant Steve Holland, now part of the England set-up, to tell him he was missed at the club.

Danny Drinkwater can build on his midweek Chelsea debut when Antonio Conte's side travel to face Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday.

"It is a lack of respect".

"In this moment we have to try to overcome this spirit because don't forget from the start of the season we had lot of problems", he told reporters.

'But if someone is happy to write this then write this. I can accept writing that the club is ready to sack me.

'Why put another person in this bull***t. If you want to hit me, hit me.

"I hate this type of situation". "First and foremost, I am back playing well, getting through games successfully and putting myself in the manager's mind for selection in the Premier League".

Ancelotti is keen to resume his career in the Premier League after being sacked by Bayern Munich despite winning the Bundesliga in his first season in charge.

Reigning champions Chelsea have made an inconsistent start to the current campaign and presently stand nine points adrift of early pacesetters Manchester City after nine games.

The absence of last season's PFA Player of the Year victor, N'Golo Kante, through injury has been keenly felt and Conte ruled him out of this weekend's clash on Friday. "Sometimes if I decide to play with two strikers, maybe I don't know, but it's important to know I can count on him", the manager added.
