Woman Arrested For Abusing, Slapping Two Army Officers in Delhi

Delhi police has arrested the woman who assaulted an army staff in Delhi.

As per reports, Kalra was married to an Army officer's son in 1995 but later divorced in 2008 over marital discords.

Kalra was slammed on the social media for her behaviour. The incident took place at Vasant Kunj in south Delhi. The subedar has accused the woman of driving in a zigzag manner and refusing to give way to the army truck driven by a constable.

In the mobile video that had gone viral on social media, 44-year-old Smriti Kalra can be seen thrashing a soldier before walking back to her auto.

According to media reports, the jawan had said that Kalra had "suddenly" stopped the auto and she started hitting him. He got down to speak to her but she abused him and also slapped him a couple of times, they said. "She hurled abuses at the Army", the FIR said. But instead the woman allegedly held the collar of the jawan, abused him and slapped him. She is seen walking back to her vehicle glaring at the person who shot the video. Cops are claiming that she was unhappy with the driver of the army truck. The vehicle she was travelling in during the incident has also been impounded. However, the Army officer had asked his colleague to do a video recording of the incident. The police have registered a case against her and charged her with "causing hurt to deter a public servant", "obstructing and assaulting a public servant on duty" and "wrongful restraint".

When the truck driver walked up to the auto and tried to reason with Kalra, she apparently held him by the collar and slapped him.
