It's hard being single, I don't enjoy it - Angelina Jolie opens up

Some recently divorced celebs may love the single life - but Angelina Jolie isn't one of them!

She stayed behind the camera for a year, but now, Angelina Jolie is considering a return to acting.

"Right now I don't have anything to direct that I feel passionate about like this, so I'll do some acting", Jolie told The Hollywood Reporter.

"This is the first time I have done this for a long time".

Jolie subsequently said it was "false and upsetting" that people had misinterpreted her description of how the roles were cast. "But somehow I am just very impatient, and I am a little bit erratic".

That being said, it's not like she's avoiding the elephant in the room either in the few interviews she has done.

Not really being able to argue with what the court orders about supervised visitation, etc. were implying, Pitt opted to own his issues in his May 2017 insta-classic interview with GQ Style in which he talked sobriety (and his lack thereof before the divorce), his tendency to check out emotionally instead of engage, times in which he couldn't see the forest for the trees, his post-split sadness and his most urgently pressing goal, which was to fix his relationship with his kids.

"It's been hard. I don't enjoy being single". I don't enjoy being single. There's nothing nice about it.

"Sometimes maybe it appears I am pulling it all together, but really, I am just trying to get through my days".

The actress' roller-coaster year also included monitoring her slew of health issues. "So my health is something I have to monitor".

She's directed a handful of projects during that stretch, including the biographical drama "First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers", which premiered this year.

"I can't pretend this isn't a tough time in my life", she added.

Back in July, Angie revealed to Vanity Fair that she was battling hypertension and had been diagnosed with Bell's palsy.

In another interview with Australia's Sydney Morning Herald, she said she had spent much of the past year "just taking care of my children". "I've taken over a year off now, because of my family situation, to take care of my kids", she continued. "I think now I need to rediscover a little bit of the old me. I hope (to work again) in the months to come".

Jolie doesn't appear onscreen in Father, and, aside from her voice role in the Kung Fu Panda franchise, hasn't acted since her own 2015 film By The Sea.

No official release date has been set for Maleficent 2.

"We have been working on the script and this is going to be a really strong sequel", Jolie said.

The first film also starred Elle Fanning, Brenton Thwaites and Sam Riley but there has been no news yet on whether any of them will return, nor have any plot details been revealed.
