The five living former US presidents said Thursday they would team up to create the "One America Appeal" to raise money for storm recovery as Texas and Louisiana seek to regroup from Harvey and Florida and the Atlantic coast brace for Hurricane Irma. "As former Presidents, we wanted to come together and join our fellow citizens in supporting Houston and the communities along the Gulf Coast as they rebuild".
His father, George H.W. Bush, then says, "We love you, Texas".
Trump - who is busy corralling the federal government response as another impending storm barrels toward Florida - tweeted later that he was "proud to stand with presidents" in supporting the effort, called the One America Appeal.

Hurricane Harvey has stirred celebrities, including singer Beyonce, Houston Texans football player J.J. Watt and actor Sandra Bullock to raise money to help the victims.
The ad is for the One America Appeal, an organization dedicated to spending every cent donated to it to Hurricane Harvey relief.
The campaign is started to support and help those people who hurt by the Hurricane Harvey, the campaign is expected to expand to support the Irma victims.
Former commander-in-chiefs Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama have launched the One America Appeal to help fix areas of the Gulf Coast left devastated by the storm.
And now Harvey has done something else unprecedented.bringing together five former presidents to pitch a powerful appeal for help. The foundation raised $54.4 million for the victims, according to the New York Times.
Carter points out the relief efforts carried out by Texans, including the Bush family.
