Zidane confirms to extend Real Madrid contract

From one Real prodigy to another, Diario Gol (h/t Jack Otway of the Daily Express) reported United manager and former Los Blancos chief Jose Mourinho failed in an attempt to sign 16-year-old defender Gutierrez.

Asensio only joined Real Madrid three years ago, for a paltry £3m, and Real could be tempted by the huge increase they would make on the attacking midfielder.

"Maybe in a year's time, I might be gone".

Spanish federation rules at that time stated that players must serve a suspension in the competition in which the offence was committed, although since March 2015 bans picked up in the Super Cup have been served in subsequent La Liga games. I will never argue with Madrid about this.

The Frenchman confirmed striker Cristiano Ronaldo is fit to start, after he appeared from the bench against Manchester United on Tuesday as Madrid won the UEFA Super Cup in Skopje.

"I'm very happy for the confidence Real Madrid shows in me", he added. And the objectives are always the same: trying to win every single game and every single title.

Zidane also warned the European champions against a Barcelona backlash at Camp Nou on Sunday.

Speaking about Barcelona's recent changes, Zinedine said Barca's playing style will not change despite having a new coach Ernesto Valverde and losing Neymar to Paris St Germain in a record-breaking transfer.

But whoever comes in will play very well too. The opposite. They're a club in the process of changing but Barcelona is Barcelona.

Barcelona will reportedly turn their attention to rivals Real Madrid and look to trigger Marco Asensio's release clause as part of a shock twist in their efforts to replace Neymar.

"If we think it will be easier [to face Barcelona without Neymar], we are mistaken".

'We know we've got a lot of talent and that with hard work we can achieve great things, ' Zidane said.
