Steve Mounie fires against Crystal Palace as Huddersfield top of Premier League

Huddersfield Town forward Steve Mounie has revealed his delight after scoring twice on his Premier League debut against Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon.

For David Wagner's side it was a dream start to life in the Premier League as Joel Ward claimed an own goal opener and new striker Steve Mounie claimed a brace. It will be up to Wagner to get the most out of his defence as the attack could struggle to find the back of the net.

Crystal Palace head to Liverpool for their second Premier League game of the season next Saturday.

"I wasn't surprised by Huddersfield, we were well-prepared for how they played". Huddersfield has a good manager but they lack skills on the pitch and that could cost them this season. In the summer, Huddersfield held 7 friendly fights preparing for the start in the elite, scored 3 wins, and lost two games in two matches.

Where next for De Boer and Crystal Palace?

The former Manchester United man was the most fouled player in the Premier League last season on 121.

On the evidence of yesterday's performance, it's going to take a little bit of time before the Eagles look comfortable in the new 3-4-3 formation, and with time still left in the transfer market, it could be a busy end of the window for De Boer and Palace.

Widely dismissed as contenders for relegation before they had even kicked a ball, Huddersfield produced a typically-energetic display to outclass their experienced hosts, earn three vital points and climb to first place.

Mooy's Huddersfield travelled to London for their first top-flight clash in nearly five decades and came away with three points after a 3-0 win over Crystal Palace.
