Cowboys owner Jerry Jones rolled out the red carpet for the Texans at his practice facility, The Star, in Frisco.
"[Texans players] have a great opportunity and platform to go back and pour into the city and check in on their own families and get involved in the community and rally it in a lot of ways", tight end Jason Witten said. To me, we've played in a bunch of preseason games. "I think Houston being able to get home and see their families is a big deal".
"We told our team at the outset of the week that it might be a amusing week given the circumstances that they're going through down in Houston", Garrett said.
The Texans are working out in the practice facility of the Cowboys because of floods pounding Houston.
"There are now discussions about whether to play Thursday night's Ravens-Saints game in New Orleans due to Harvey, per a league source".
The Texans said in a statement that they will drive home on Wednesday after finding a safe travel route.
Cowboys' officials began selling tickets to the game Tuesday for $25, with all proceeds from the ticket sales and parking fees - also established at $25 - going directly to Houston flood relief. "We're going to dedicate this season to the city of Houston, the people of Houston".
The NFL announced Monday the intrastate clash would be moved from NRG Stadium in Houston to AT&T Stadium in Arlington. Fans can request a refund or have the money go to the storm relief efforts.
- Houston Texans (@HoustonTexans) August 28, 2017.@CJonesAnderson announced that the NFL Foundation is matching the Texans $1 million donation to the United Way. As of Wednesday afternoon, the fund had raised more than $6.3 million and Watt also raised the goal of the fundraiser to $10 million.
I've raised the goal to $1 million.
